from Michael D. Lacopo, DVM (INPowerMac@aol.com):
As a genealogist, I run across items in antique
malls such as photos, Bibles, and documents that I feel should
be in the hands of people who would cherish them. One such thing I found was a
beautiful Bible published in 1868 in excellent condition with the inscription
inside "Presented to Miss Ida Hatch by W.H. Hatch, Dec. 25th 1868." Another
inscription in the back shows a connection to LaPorte, IN. I
see from the Salmon Creek Genealogy site and other research that Winslow
H. Hatch was married in LaPorte County to Martha Chapman, so I am assuming
this Bible was from him to his sister, Ida E. Hatch.
If anyone would like this Bible, I only ask for reimbursement of its cost ($20.00)
and postage. Since I try to do this as often as I can, and since many photos/documents
do not find homes, I ask for a donation in any amount you deem fit above and
beyond the normal costs.
If anyone is interested in this Bible, please let me know at the above e-mail
address! |
